Today, foundation stone was laid by Shri Nitesh Kumar, Consul General, Consulate General of India, Birgunj and Shri Shashi Kumar Khaniya, Mayor of Khairahani Municipality, for construction of Embankment and Launching Apron (Dhungre Khola River Training Works) in Chitwan District. The new embankment and launching apron at Khairahani Municipality-07 & 10, Sultana will be built at an estimated cost of NRs. 40.60 million as High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) under India-Nepal Development Partnership. 

2. In his remarks during the event, Consul General Nitesh Kumar expressed hope that implementing team of this Project will be able to complete the work within the stipulated time with the cooperation and support from all. He also assured full support of the Government of India for successfully implementing the prestigious Project, another milestone in the close relationship between India and Nepal. 

3. Mayor Shri Khaniya, in his remarks, thanked the Government of India for this Project and continuous support from India under development partnership and bilateral cooperation. 

4.          Since 2003, India has taken up over 532 HICDPs in Nepal and has completed 475 projects in the areas of health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation and creation of other public utilities across all 7 provinces of Nepal at the grassroots level. Out of these, 103 HICDPs are in Bagmati Pradesh including 9 projects in Chitwan District.

5. India and Nepal enjoy a multi-faceted and multi-sectorial development partnership that is reflective of the closeness of the people of both countries. Today’s laying of the foundation stone reflects the continued commitment of the Government of India in complementing the efforts of the Government of Nepal to create infrastructure in priority sectors.

चितवन जिल्लामा तटबन्ध तथा एप्रन (ढुङ्ग्रे खोला नदी तालिम कार्य) निर्माणको शुभारम्भको आज बीरगंज स्थित भारतीय महावाणिज्य दूतावासका महावाणिज्यदूत श्री नितेश कुमार तथा खैरहनी नगरपालिकाका मेयर श्री शशिकुमार खनिया ज्यूहरूले संयूक्तरूपमा शिलान्यास गर्नुभयो । भारत-नेपाल विकास साझेदारी अन्तर्गत उच्च प्रभाव सामुदायिक विकास परियोजना (एचआईसीडीपी) को रूपमा खैरहनी नगरपालिका–०७ र १०, सुल्तानामा नयाँ तटबन्ध र एप्रन अनुमानित रु. 40.60 मिलियन मा निमार्ण हुनेछ । 

२. कार्यक्रममा आफ्नो मन्तव्य राख्दै महावाणिज्यदूत नितेश कुमार ज्युले यस परियोजनाको कार्यान्वयन टोलीले सबैको साथ र सहयोगले तोकिएको समयभित्र काम सम्पन्न गर्ने विश्वास व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। वहाँले नेपाल र भारतबीचको घनिष्ठ सम्बन्धमा अर्को कोसेढुङ्गा रहेको प्रतिष्ठित आयोजनालाई सफलतापूर्वक कार्यान्वयन गर्न भारत सरकारको पूर्ण सहयोग रहने आश्वासन पनि दिनुभयो ।

3. मेयर श्री खनिया ज्यूले आफ्नो मन्तव्यमा यस परियोजना तथा विकास साझेदारी र द्विपक्षीय सहयोग अन्तर्गत भारतबाट निरन्तर सहयोगको लागि भारत सरकारलार्इ धन्यवाद ज्ञापन गर्नुभयो।

4. सन् 2003 देखि, भारतले नेपालमा 532 एचआईसीडीपीहरू लिएको छ र नेपालका सबै 7 प्रान्तहरूमा स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा, खानेपानी, जडान, सरसफाइ र अन्य सार्वजनिक सुविधाहरूको निर्माणको क्षेत्रमा 475 परियोजनाहरू पूरा गरेको छ। तीमध्ये चितवन जिल्लाका ९ आयोजना सहित वाग्मती प्रदेशमा १०३ एचआईसीडीपी छन् ।

5. भारत र नेपाल बहुपक्षीय र बहुक्षेत्रीय विकास साझेदारी साझा गर्दछ जसले दुवै देशका जनता बीचको निकटता झल्काउँछ। आजको शिलान्यासले प्राथमिकताका क्षेत्रमा पूर्वाधार निर्माण गर्न नेपाल सरकारको प्रयासलाई पूरक बनाउन भारत सरकारको निरन्तर प्रतिबद्धता झल्काउँछ।
